The Archdeacon of Ludlow, Fiona Gibson, was pleased to attend a recent afternoon tea to celebrate Shropshire Volunteers hosted by the High Sheriff of Shropshire, The Hon Selina Graham, accompanied by her guest, Mr Graeme Perks.
A new food bank opened earlier this month run by a group of churches working together in Pontesbury as demand for help continues to rise. The UK’s food poverty rate is already among the highest in Europe. Despite being the sixth richest country in the world, millions are struggling to access the food they need.
It is with great sadness that we heard the news this evening (Thursday 8 September 2022) of the death of Her Majesty, The Queen. She has been a constant in our lives for eight decades and has been steadfast in her service to our country and The Commonwealth.
Emily Hill took to the stand at General Synod last weekend to give her maiden speech. Emily who is 21 years old and a trainee nurse, is one of the lay representatives for Hereford Diocese and the youngest ever member to be elected to the General Synod. She spoke passionately during the assisted dying debate before a packed house of representatives.
