The Rt Reverend Richard Jackson, Bishop of Hereford, delivered his Maiden Speech on 22nd February in a debate on aligning poverty reduction policy-making across Government. Bishop Richard spoke on rural poverty and its widescale impact on the communities of Hereford Diocese with particular reference to the mental health of the farming communities.
Archbishop Hosam Naoum, Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East, and the Synod of the Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf are pleased to announce the election of the Revd Sean Semple to be the sixth Bishop of the Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf.
The café church format allows a more relaxed style and opportunity for people to meet up, eat together and discuss life issues from a Christian standpoint. "We have been delighted to welcome on average nearly 30 people to each meeting. This includes new people who live in the local community but who do not regularly attend a Sunday service in our Church building."
The Dioceses of Hereford and Worcester are pleased to announce a new cross-diocesan appointment which will see Gemma Martin take over as the next Diocesan Director of Education for Hereford Diocese following the departure of Canon Andrew Teale in April 2024.
A sense of joy and communal spirit are being celebrated by many churches across Hereford Diocese including those in Abbeydore Deanery and Fownhope Benefice as part of Plough Sunday, a cherished tradition that marks the beginning of the agricultural year.
Over a hundred guests and hosts came together in a heartwarming celebration hosted by the Bishop of Hereford last weekend. The festive gathering, which took place at the The Bishop’s Palace in Hereford featured performances by a Ukrainian children's and adult choirs singing traditional Ukrianian songs.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Revd Justin Welby, the leader of the Church of England, is visiting Churches in Hereford Diocese today, Saturday 9 December as part of the Year of Prayer.
The Princess of Wales has designated Leominster Priory as one of only 12 churches in the UK for a 'Together at Christmas Community Carol Service.'
