This event will include a teaching session from Bishop Richard on proclaiming our faith to others. The event will begin at 9:30 am and end at 1:00 pm with repeated workshops, allowing participants to choose two of the three workshops.  The three workshops  will explore the five marks of Anglican mission:

  1. TELL - To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom
  2. TEACH - To teach, baptise and nurture new believers
  3. TEND - To respond to human need by loving service
  4. TRANSFORM - To transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind and pursue peace and reconciliation
  5. TREASURE - To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation, and sustain and renew the life of the earth

Seminar 1 will be on What is Church for young people and how might it look in the future. This will be led by Nick Gurney of the Youth Hub team.

Seminar 2 will focus on the environment and how we can care for God's creation.  This will include, Eco Church, outdoor worship and getting our church to net zero. Our diocesan mission enabler, Revd Steve Hollinghurst, will lead this along with our Net Zero Project Manager, Ian Hill.

Seminar 3 will hear from Milly Boylan, former community support worker and an independent councillor in Ross-on-Wye. She is also director of the town’s @the HUB community support centre. She launched the hub as a result of her hard work and tenacity, investing her own savings in turning this vision into a reality. The centre seeks to support vulnerable people on issues like benefits, housing, homelessness and debt advice but above all of that a safe space. The hub offers an open-door policy and has hosted thousands of visits from those in need. Her inspirational approach to care and support offers us a wonderful example of what it means to live out our love for others in real and practical ways. This seminar is coordinated by Joe Simon, Church and Society officer.
