This week Bishop Richard asks us what it might mean if we actively seek to change our lives and become more Christ-like.
This week Bishop Richard talks about how a long period of discernment before decisions were made worked in the formation of the early church. He asks us if there's a lesson we can learn today about how we lead the Church in the 2020s?
The weekly video message and transcript from Bishop Richard in which he talks about Living in Love and Faith.
Bishop Richard talks to us about grief and where we find our hope as Christians. Eternal life is the truth and the life. It is an offer made to all who choose to follow Jesus.
Bishop Richard reflects on the momentous events of the last week and helps us to consider how a life of public service modelled by The Queen was a true reflection of Her deep faith in God.
Hello everyone and welcome to this week’s video. I think it quite likely preachers and congregations may be in a period of recovery after the lectionary readings from last Sunday. We had Jeremiah likening God to a potter shaping evil against the Israelites unless they changed their ways. Then we had Paul asking his friend Philemon to accept his runaway slave Onesimus back without much sign of calling the institution of slavery into question. I’m recording this from a sweltering day just outside the chamber of General Synod. It ends tomorrow. Its been the usual mixture of the important and the banal. We’re all hugely proud of Emily (Synod’s youngest member) for a great speech in the debate about assisted dying. Others on the Hereford team have made great contributions both inside and outside the chamber.
Hello everyone and welcome to this week’s video. Its quiet down by the river at 6.15 and not too hot. I hope you’ve survived it! This is going to be the last one for a few weeks as I take a break for the Lambeth conference and then a holiday. I’ll be resuming at the beginning of September.
