Today in our #2minInterview we meet James Adedeji.
James lives in Hereford and has had quite a varied career before joining the team as Governance and Office Administrator. He also used to run his own small artisan food business.
As the new Governance and Office Administrator, he supports the work of the Diocesan Secretary, the Pastoral Secretary and non-HR office administration. Thus far, the main activities he has been focussed on are supporting various committees of the diocese including the Diocesan Synod, Finance Committee, Bishop’s Council and Archdeaconry Pastoral Sub-Committees. He is also supporting work to move the diocesan office to a fully cloud-based infrastructure which should make our internal systems more efficient and better integrated.
James enjoys cooking, word games (his current favourite is still Wordle) and following new trends in technology.
I: Hello, James. Thanks for taking part in our 2-min interview series. The first question is nice and easy. We like to keep it simple - What is your favourite genre of book/film?
JA: I haven’t been an avid reader or moviegoer for quite a while but I love reading thriller novels and this is also my favourite genre for films and television. My favourite authors include Robert Ludlum and Sidney Sheldon and I am currently savouring the last series of the US TV series “The Blacklist”.
I: Where is the most exciting place you have been?
JA: That has to be Cancun, Mexico where we went for our honeymoon many years ago. It was a truly magical blend of culture, history, sun, sea and food. We hope to repeat the visit and see more of Mexico sometime in the future.
I: I've been to Cancun as well. So many beautiful beaches and the food is fantastic - paradise! We know you are new here and have just arrived, but what do you enjoy about working at Hereford Diocese?
JA: There are many things I enjoy about working at Hereford Diocese but the one thing that I appreciate the most is how ready colleagues are to help when you need a hand or something explained. This has really helped me to settle in and really begin to understand how the diocese works. I also love sitting at the bottom of the stairs in reception – a prime spot to be offered hot drinks throughout the day!
