Vicar - Canon Pyon
Monday 16th April 2018
Wednesday 2nd – Thursday 3rd May, 2018
The Bishop of Hereford, the Rt Revd Richard Frith, wishes to appoint a new incumbent for the Canon Pyon Benefice. The benefice, which is in Leominster Deanery, lies midway between Leominster and the City of Hereford.
The congregations in this group constitute a base of faithful and committed Christians, who want to look outward in mission to the surrounding community. New housing is creating an influx of younger people, with whom the church already has some contact through the schools and Life Event services.
The parishes have been used to a Modern Catholic style of worship, and set a high value on spiritual engagement and growth.
This benefice is rural, but is very aware of Leominster and Hereford nearby. Two important A Roads run through the benefice, and provide good communications. An estate agent would extol the combination of a beautiful and relaxed country environment, with the amenities of the urban centres.
