Rector - Cider Benefice
This line from local WW1 poet Robert Frost, sums up what we are trying to achieve within the communities served by our five parishes in this area of outstanding natural beauty near to the vibrant market town of Ledbury.
If you are a spiritual, motivated and enthusiastic person who sees their ministry as a thriving partnership between themselves and the Church communities, we offer you a wonderful opportunity to lead the Cider Group Benefice in Herefordshire working across several rural villages. The area is renowned for its natural beauty with rolling hills and cider orchards and is situated near to the vibrant market town of Ledbury. We are a relatively new benefice comprising six churches, (one currently unused). The benefice was created some 18 months ago as a result of the separation of the large Ledbury Ministry team into 3 distinct groups. Though newly formed we have quickly found the benefit of working together and are looking forward to further collaborative developments. Although independent, there is also a desire to seek greater cooperation between the individual benefices.
POSITION OF RECTOR FOR THE CIDER GROUP OF CHURCHES
The individual parishes within the benefice have their own character but are united with a common vision. The churches work closely together and wish to make faith relevant to all the people in our benefice.
We are looking for someone who:
will communicate and exemplify the teachings of Christ with imagination, empathy and understanding.
is outgoing and enjoys engaging with people of faith, or no faith, in the wider ministry of the Church.
has a collaborative approach to ministry.
can inspire and further our common vision, and our commitment to all the people of these communities.
enjoys village life and is keen to be part of it.
Are you able to help us grow and mature into something really special?
We guarantee a warm welcome, in this most beautiful area of Herefordshire. We can offer a strong, established ministry team, administrative support together with a growing group of lay people willing to use their time and talents. The post offers a family sized house in Ledbury and the benefice pays travel and other relevant expenses. We can also offer the distinctive rewards and challenges of rural ministry. We believe this post is both exciting and challenging and the Benefice is keen to work with you
