Twenty-two people from Hereford Archdeaconry were confirmed by Bishop Richard last Saturday, 20th June, at Hereford Cathedral. The celebration of faith was part of the season of events marking the diocese's 1350th anniversary. Families, friends and sponsors joined confirmands in the service and at the tea afterwards at the Bishop's Palace. Confirmands had been invited to submit a brief personal testimony of their faith journey, prior to the service, all of which were read by the bishop beforehand. Bishop Richard commented that many of them referred to the importance of the part played by their sponsors in their coming to confirmation. There will be a further Service of Confirmation, for the Ludlow Archdeaconry, to be held at St Laurence's, Ludlow on 10th October.
