Dore Abbey (Holy Trinity and St Mary Church) PCC together with the Friends of Dore Abbey are fundraising to replace sections of the Abbey roof. Twenty years on from the repairs to the main roof, urgent repairs are now needed to other sections of the roof to stop water damaging this former Cistercian Abbey which is in the village of Abbey Dore in the Golden Valley, Herefordshire.

A fundraising campaign ‘Raising the Roof for Dore Abbey’ has been launched asking supporters of the Abbey to sponsor one or more a roof tiles from £25.00. The campaign is also being supported by a range of events during the first weekend in September.

On Friday 6 th September the Abbey is hosting a performance of ‘Choice Grenfell’ described as an ‘evening of warmth, wit and gentle humour’. Choice Grenfell is a wonderful tribute featuring some of the best of Joyce Grenfell’s hilarious songs and monologues from Stately as a Galleon and School Nativity Play to A Terrible Worrier and First Flight.

"tremendously funny and totally on the ball"
