The Herefordshire County Harvest Songs of Praise, hosted within Hereford Cathedral on 22nd October, was the venue for the launch of Future Calling. Bishop Michael spoke at the end of the service before the final hymn. He talked about the environmental issues affecting the planet and how the study course was designed to offer people avenues of thought, prayer and action designed to address these. Bishop Richard, Bishop of Hereford, had agreed to embark on the study and report back via a blog.

The congregation included a delegation from the Lutheran Church of Bavaria, led by Bishop Ark Nitsche, the Regional Bishop of Nuremberg, together with the Mayor of Herefordshire, the Chairman of herefordshire Council and Lady McFarlane, Deputy Lord Lieutenant. Also listening to Bishop Michael were representatives from Herefordshire's farming organisations including the NFU and Young Farmers Clubs and members of congregations drawn from across the diocese. The MarchesCENT stand attracted interest and many of the leaflets were taken for distribution.
