IME2 is a three-way partnership between the local church(es) where the curate serves, the curate and the Diocese. It is for all curates who are in their first three years after ordination, whether full-time stipendiary (paid) or part-time or unpaid.

IME2 aims to support and develop the vocation and ministry of newly ordained clergy (curates) in the first three years after ordination. It forms a bridge between their initial training, whether on a course or at a college, and the more autonomous ministerial responsibilities of Incumbency or as an SSM Associate Minister.

It looks to equip curates to provide the ordained ministry needed to implement the strategic vision of the Diocese for the future of the Church, in accordance with the national Learning Outcomes given by the House of Bishops for this stage of ministry.
