Turnastone: St Mary Magdalene, HR2 0RA
Turnastone was one of the smallest parishes in Herefordshire, with a handful of dwellings and mostly farm pasture land. The church building dates from the late 12th/early 13th century with a handsome barrel roof dated about 1500. A guide book and history leaflet is available at the church. From 2019 the parish has merged with Vowchurch, but the church building continues in use.
Morning service (Morning Prayer or Holy Communion)
Services at Turnastone take place on first Sunday of the month, unless there are special festivals etc. Services are normally based on the Book of Common Prayer, following the order for Morning Prayer or for Holy Communion (check local notices, or our website, for details). We are joined by the congregation from Vowchurch and members of other churches in our benefice.
