Thy Kingdom Come in Shropshire
"How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity! It is like precious oil ... for there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life for evermore" - from Psalm 133 (NIVUK)
Being a 'land-locked' county, Shropshire, together with Telford & Wrekin, has boundaries on all sides. Boundaries - national, local and individual - usually demarcate territory and can lead to 'no-go' areas. They also create cultural, social, ethnic, racial, gender and even spiritual barriers, leading to division, mistrust and in some cases, conflict.
Jesus came to break down barriers enabling us to have access to our Heavenly Father as well as freedom in the Holy Spirit.
Our desire is to 'break dividing walls' as we pray for unity to be restored and proclaim freedom and blessing across the whole of Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin as well as to the neighbouring counties beyond our borders.
As part of the international prayer initiative Thy Kingdom Come (May 10th-20th) Chris Densham has put together a series of prayer walks that will connect all the churches that are part of Telford Christians Together. In general terms these fit with the existing Ecumenical partnerships/area and will allow us to pray blessing on one another and the areas we serve. The purpose of the exercise is simply to wander between the different churches praying God's blessing on the things we see. Many of the routes take us past Schools, Hospitals and Community Spaces for which we can pray.
Some events have yet to be finalised and may be subject to last minute changes.
