VOCATIONS AND MINISTRYIs God calling you?Could God be calling you to be a teacher a youth worker a member of a Ministry Team? an evangelist? a Reader or a priest? There is a wide and exciting spectrum of possibilities, both lay and ordained! The first step is to speak with a senior member of your local church: your Vicar, another member of the Ministry Team, a Reader or a Churchwarden. If they encourage you to go on exploring the possibility, we have a network of Vocations Advisers across the Diocese who can help. They will offer a wise listening ear and practical advice. You may already know who is available in your Deanery - if not, please contact me and I will put you in touch with an Adviser near to you. There are other ways to explore what vocation might mean for you: Pathways - a short course, which can be led and run locally
for a small group of people who would like to undertake a journey of discovery
and reflection together. Exploring Vocation - a programme of events during the year for those exploring a calling to an accredited ministry, lay or ordained. In the library at the Bishop Mascall Centre there are a number of books on the theme of Vocation which you may find of interest. www.bmcresources.org.uk For more details of these possibilities, or to discuss the selection process for those who offer themselves as candidates for ordination, please contact me:
