INFORMATION
ABOUT FRAMEWORK FOR FAITH
Framework
for Faith is designed for groups of up to about a dozen people under
the guidance of a Group Leader. Most Framework units are divided
into eight sessions. Each session is designed to take approximately
two hours, including a break for refreshments. Groups generally meet
in people's homes, either once a week or fortnight.
Each unit has its own workbook, written by an experienced person
with a good knowledge of their subject. It is accompanied by a resource
box containing additional material and a wide range of books to suit
all tastes. The resource box is continually being revised and updated.
Framework for Faith is not expensive. The initial, one off cost,
is £10.00 per person which helps to keep the resource boxes up to date.
The cost of individual units depends upon whether the duplicating is
done centrally or locally. Most of the units are provided on CD ROM,
at a nominal charge, in 'pdf' format for duplicating locally. Central
duplicating costs are calculated on a job by job basis - please contact
the MDT Administrator for our current charges.

THE
FRAMEWORK FOR FAITH UNITS
Introductory
Unit 1-An Approach to the Bible is a good starter unit for Framework
For Faith because it is short (3 Sessions) and free for groups to try
before embarking on the main studies. This unit does not count towards
the Marches Certificate in Christian Studies. The Lay Training Officer
is prepared to help lead all or part of this study if appropriate.

THE
MARCHES CERTIFICATE IN CHRISTIAN STUDIES
An additional
feature of Framework For Faith is the option to work for the Marches
Certificate in Christian Studies. The certificate will be awarded
to group members who have completed any six main units and have submitted
a project inspired by each unit for assessment. The project can
take a variety of forms. Examples are: compiling a scrap book, producing
taped interviews on a chosen topic, writing a book review as well as
the more traditional essay; planning a time of worship.
Your Group Leader or the Lay Training Officer will help with the selection
and preparation of a suitable project; the more imaginative the study
the better. Certificates are presented in the home church of the
individual students.
