ABOUT MINISTRY DEVELOPMENT & TRAINING

The Ministry Development & Training Team serves the Church by playing its part in seeking to build up the life and mission of the Church and to help it look outwards. We work together collaboratively as a Team, and our goal is to see the gifts of all people within the Church developed and used in mission and ministry.

The things we do include:

  • Working with individuals, lay and ordained.
  • Working with local groups, Readers, Deanery Chapters, those in their first posts, clergy, ministry teams, Church Officers, group leaders, etc.
  • Networking regionally and nationally.
  • Contributing to the formation and implementation of Church policy, locally and nationally.
  • Developing study programmes to support the local Church in mission.
  • Providing resources for churches and individuals; many can be downloaded via our internet pages.

The Team

Revd. Sarah Cawdell
Sarah is Continuing Ministerial Education (CME) Officer, and therefore mainly involved with the training and development of Clergy and Readers. Her day off is usually Friday.

Revd. Peter Massey
Peter is Lay Training Officer for the Diocese and thus primarily concerned with developing and facilitating courses to support the ministry and mission of lay people. These include Education and Discipleship, Framework For Faith, Courses For All, Resources for Mission, etc. His current focus is on developing courses for Witness, Evangelism and Mission. Peter is also a Myers-Briggs practitioner; his services are free to members of our Diocese. His day off is usually Monday.

Miss Fiona Brooke
Fiona is the Training Administrator and is generally the first port of call for most enquiries concerning the Department. She looks after the practical details of all Training Department events, including the booking arrangements. Fiona can be contacted at the Diocesan Office during office hours but 'out of hours' messages can be left on the answer phone (01432 373309) which will be checked daily except at weekends. Members of the Training Team also check their personal emails daily.
