Music Director and Organist
St Paul's is a family friendly church, affiliated to the RSCM. We are seeking a new music director and organist to oversee our musical activities.
Duties will include accompanying the 10am Sunday services each week and main church festival services and ensuring that an organist is available for weddings and funerals (approximately 50 funerals and 15 wedding annually).
Your role will be to lead us in traditional, fresh and creative music; assist with preparation of printed material for services ensuring CCLI requirements are followed; play and lead the music in the services; oversee and arrange for instrumentalists to play for services as needed; lead our willing singers' group and take practices.
Other responsibilities can be arranged according to availability/skills which may include: expanding our singing group; liaising with the local schools to explore a children's choir; playing at our new family focussed Sunday service at 4pm (The Filling Station).
St Paul's has a Brindley & Foster two manual and pedal instrument (tracker action). It received a major restoration 1993 and is regularly maintained. There is an assistant organist currently in post.
Faith in worship is important to us and so we are looking for someone who shares that desire.
Remuneration will be negotiable with the benefit of fees for funerals and weddings if the appointed person is available.
