About the West Midland RTP
In July 2003, the General Synod of the Church of England amended and approved the report Formation for Ministry within a Learning Church (the Hind Report). It outlines a vision of the Church in its calling to participate in God's mission in the world and sets in motion a major series of changes designed to strengthen our provision of training.
The report seeks to support the people of God in their discipleshipand to equipclergy and Readers in their ministries. It asks groups of dioceses to work together in a new way and, with ecumenical partners and our training institutions, to create new patterns of training and to enable lifelong learning.
This new way of working together is in Regional Training Partnerships. Hereford Diocese is part of the West Midlands Regional Training Partnership, alongside the Church of England Dioceses of Birmingham, Coventry, Gloucester, Lichfield and Worcester, the Queen's Foundation in Birmingham, the West of England Ministerial Training Course and the relevant bodies of the Methodist and United Reformed Churches.
