Ludlow Deanery

Ludlow Deanery covers an extensive area of South Shropshire and also, uniquely, parishes in two adjacent counties: Herefordshire and Worcestershire. It includes three towns: Cleobury Mortimer, Tenbury Wells and Ludlow, the former mining settlement of Clee Hill and several very small villages. Indeed, except for the towns the deanery is very rural in character.

In Ludlow deanery there are:Ludlow Church

- 37 parish churches
- 5 chapels-of-ease

The old parish church of St Bartholomew, Richard's Castle, is now in the care of The Churches Conservation Trust and is used for occasional services and other events. Three other former parish churches: Burwarton, Cold Weston and Hopton Cangeford are now in secular use.

The deanery is served by four team or group ministries:

- Ludlow Team Ministry
- Tenbury Team Ministry
- Cleobury Mortimer group of parishes
- Corvedale group of parishes

There are seven stipendary ministers plus a number of self-supporting ministers or ministers in secular employment. There are two curates in training. The deanery also is fortunate in having several readers and retired ministers who play an active part in the deanery.
