Hereford Diocesan Counselling Service leaflet 2012
" Calling all stressed clergy!"
We know that many clergy, readers, their spouses and families are suffering from increasing and often destructive levels of stress.
Stress saps our energy and reduces our ability to cope with life's many challenges.
The team of Hereford Diocesan counsellors provide a confidential service.
The identity of those who use it is not known to anyone in the diocese apart from the counsellor they work with.
Those who have used this service have been able to spend time in a non judgemental private setting
Issues may be personal, such as a relationship, or a bereavement, or work- and church-related matters
Emotions such as anxiety, stress or depression can be faced and considered
There is supportive space in which to consider dilemmas, explore options.
It may be a reflective context in which to choose to make life changing decisions
For some, the decision to access the Diocesan Counselling service has been a lifeline.
Please do consider using this service.
