View of Golden ValleyTHE ABBEYDORE DEANERY PLAN (approved July 2009)

a) To maintain the five multi-parish benefices and their incumbencies.
(One has eleven parish churches, the next eight, then six and 2 x five). This is based on detailed discussions in the 1990's and in 2004 that took particular account of the distinctive geographical considerations.

b) To share ministry and to further mission locally by encouraging more lay and non-stipendiary/PTO clergy involvement, with more locally-based training across the Deanery. (NB. Three benefices - Borderlink, Ewyas Harold and Wye-Dore - have Local Ministry Development Groups.)

c) To survey youth activities and issues, form our response and seek to enable it.

d) To continue to support mission overseas (Hegongo School in Tanzania 2008-11).

e) To consult/work ecumenically especially in the field of local mission.

f) To continue to pay the parish share in full across the Deanery.
