April 2012 Staff Changes, New Appointments & Vacancies:
New Appointments:
The Revd Sue Beverly, Assistant Curate in the parish of Coity, Nolton & Brackla and Area Dean of Bridgend (Church in Wales) , has been appointed as Rector of Broseley with Benthall, Jackfield, Linley, Willey & Barrow will be Instituted on 5th August 2012
The Revd Brenda Jacobs currently curate in the West Hereford Team has been appointed as Rector of the Arrowvale Group of parishes (Pembridge w Moorcourt, Shobdon, Staunton-on-Arrow, Byton and Lyonshall) will be Instituted on 29th July 2012
The Revd Paul Wignall, currently of Coventry Diocese, has been appointed Priest in Charge of Clun, Bettws-y-Crwyn, Newcastle-on-Clun, Clunton, Clunbury and Hopesay and will be licensed on 28th June 2012
The Revd Elaine Jessiman, currently in the Diocese of Portsmouth, has been appointed Priest in Charge of Dorrington with Leebotwood, Longnor, Stapleton, Smethcott and Woolstaston and will be licensed on 15th May 2012
Revd Laurence Mathew, formerly of Warminster (Christ Church) has been appointed as an Associate Minister to a House for Duty for Ross & Walford and was licensed on Sunday 1st April 2012
Revd Pam Bickley, formerly Assistant Curate, assigned to the parish of Minsterley, Habberley, and Hope with Shelve, has been appointed Diocesan Vocations Adviser (part time - SSM), starting 20th February 2012 and was commissioned on 25th March 2012.
The Revd Preb Jane Davies former Incumbent of the Frome Valley Group of parishes, was appointed as Priest in Charge of Lugwardine with Bartestree, Weston Beggard & Dormington, Withington & Westhide was licensed on 15th January 2012.
The Revd Preb Jill Groves, former Priest in Charge of the Apedale parishes (Hope Bowdler with Eaton under Heywood, Rushbury & Cardington), has been appointed to a part time post as Assistant Chaplain at St Michael's Hospice. She commenced work there on 7th November 2011 and was licensed on Monday 16th January 2012
Retirements:
Revd Preb Henry Morris, formerly Vicar of Madeley, retired on 19th February 2012
Revd Ian Gibbs, Incumbent of the two benefices of Diddlebury, Holdgate, Munslow & Tugford & Abdon, retired on 31st March 2012.
Revd Preb Clive Williams, Rector of Highley with Billingsley, Glazeley, Deuxhill & Chelmarsh, will be retiring on 30th June 2012
Clergy moving out of the Diocese:
Revd Dr Robert Taylor, currently Rector of the Benefice of Kingsland with Eardisland, Aymestrey and Leinthall Earles has been appointed Vicar of St John the Evangelist, Goole, in the Diocese of Sheffield. Arrangements for Rob's collation will be made in due course by the Diocese of Sheffield.
The Revd Preb Clare Sykes currently Chair of DBE and Rural Dean of Bromyard, has accepted the post as Rector of the Osney Benefice in Oxford Diocese and will be licensed there on Sunday 22nd July 2012.
The Revd Graham Sykes, currently Vicar of Bromyard & Stoke Lacy with Moreton Jeffries, will be moving to Oxford Diocese in July 2012
The Revd Melia Cope, formerly Priest in Charge - Acton Scott, Wistanstow with Cwm Head, Stokesay & Halford with Sibdon, has taken up a post in East Radnor (Diocese of Brecon & Swansea) as at 24th February 2012
