THE BISHOP'S OFFICE

The Bishop's Office is situated in the Palace, alongside the Diocesan Office. The main task of a Bishop is to look after and care for the clergy, who serve the Church in the parishes, and support staff who serve the Diocese in other ways.

The Right Reverend Anthony Priddis was welcomed as the 104th Bishop of Hereford in June 2004. He is married to Kathy, an acclaimed portrait painter.

The Bishop's Office is staffed by a full time Personal Assistant, Julie Milne,
his secretary, Joyce Hunt and his Administrative Assistant, Sandra Catley. They support the Bishop in the day-to-day work of running the office, dealing with correspondence, organising his diary, responding to queries, welcoming visitors and holding the fort when he is away from his office, in the Diocese or elsewhere.

The Church of England is here to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ,
the Son of God. It is the Bishop's job and privilege, to lead the Diocese of Hereford in proclaiming this message, and in ministering to all who live within the Diocese. He is therefore very much involved in all aspects of the life of the communities including Education, Agriculture and in working with Voluntary and Statutory Agencies.
