ROADPEACE
RoadPeace is a national charity which offers support to people injured or bereaved by a road traffic collision.
The Council for Social Responsibility is the facilitator for the charity in South Shropshire and Herefordshire.
Each year an annual service of remembrance for road crash victims is held in Hereford Cathedral, to mark the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.
During the Service, people are invited to lay an oak leaf at the foot of the Easter candle to commemorate their loved ones, on which they have written the name of the person who was killed or injured in a road crash.
The service is open to all but especially welcomes those bereaved or injured by car crashes and members of the emergency services.
The next RoadPeace Service will take place in Hereford Cathedral on Sunday, 20th November 2011 at 3.30 pm. The preacher will be the Revd Preb Kay Garlick, Cathedral Chaplain. Invitations and posters are available.
If you have been bereaved or injured by a traffic collision you may find it helpful to talk to someone else who has shared a similar experience and is prepared to offer telephone contact and support.
