HOT FOOD ROTA FOR THE HOMELESS
A comprehensive rota of hot food is being provided by the Churches in Hereford Diocese Action Team (CHAT). The rota ensures that at least one hot meal is available nearly every day of the week for those who are homeless, hungry or socially isolated.
COMMUNITY LARDER / FOOD BANKS
Thanks to all those Churches and Schools that responded to the recent Advent Appeal for the Food Banks in Hereford Diocese, which provide bags of food to those in urgent need. The response was excellent and enabled us to stock up our shelves and supply many Christmas Hampers. We have a new Winter Appeal and still need tins of meat jars of coffee and packets of dried milk and sugar, squash and fruit juice, toothpaste, shampoo and loo rolls.
Demand for food parcels is growing significantly. Please use the poster or contact j.boys@hereford.anglican.org
EVENTS
In this section we will post information about forthcoming events which may be of interest to you. They will sometimes be events we are organising within the CSR Team, or they be part of the work of other organisations. But, whoever is putting on the event, the subject matter will always be close to the heart of CSR and the work we undertake.
PUBLICATIONS
Communication is one of the key roles of the Council for Social Responsibility so that those within the Diocese and others are aware of the social issues with which the Church in the Hereford Diocese is involved.
The CSR produces a monthly briefing paper called Scooter, which is for clergy, parishes and the wider community. It is also a useful insert for parish magazines. If you would like to be on the Scooter e-mailing list, then email your details to j.boys@hereford.anglican.org, to ensure your name is added to the database.
The CSR has also produced a number of publications supporting its work in the Diocese. To download any of these use the links below, or if you would prefer a hard copy these are available from the CSR office for a nominal cost of £3. Please send your cheque, made payable to Hereford DBF, and a mailing address to the Council for Social Responsibility, The Gateway Office, The Palace, Hereford, HR4 9BL.
