HOMELESSNESS
The issue of homelessness is something which affects every city in the UK and although the statutory and voluntary agencies work hard to help people on to the housing ladder, whilst they are homeless they are often hungry and reliant on churches to feed them.
In Hereford the Churches in Hereford Diocese Action Team (CHAT) is working all year to ensure that there is
hot food available seven days a week from one of the churches in the City. The food providers also offer small bags of snacks for people to take away after their meal and shower facilities are available on several days of the week.
Representatives from the Council for Social Responsibility sit on the Herefordshire Homelessness Forum and together with the statutory and voluntary agencies explore new solutions to this age old problem.
More information about the work of the Forum can be obtained from Jackie Boys, the Social Responsibility Officer, on 01432 373311 or email: j.boys@hereford.anglican.org
