Project
Our new project began on Lady Day March 25th and was launched at the Lady Day service in the Cathedral.
You can download a leaflet here.
In the south of the dioceses branches are supplying Welcome Bags to Hereford Hospital.
Often those arriving in hospital as an emergency have no opportunity to take anything with them.
So Mothers' Union have been asked to supply washing items in a simple drawstring bag. The bag should not be water proof. The bag should contain toothpaste, a toothbrush, a flannel, Simple Soap(unscented), a comb and a packet of tissues. Also a small plastic bag into which the patient can take home a wet flannel.
For more information and to arrange collection contact Janet on 01432 278464. A laminated label will be attached saying that this is a gift from the Mothers' Union.
In the north of the diocese we are supporting the South Shropshire Women's Refuge at Church Stretton.
The Refuge exists to provide safe accomodation, information and suport to women and children fleeing domestic abuse and empowers them to make decisions for themselves about their own future. It is a constant struggle to raise funds for the Refuge even though it saves the lives of women and children.
So the Mothers' Union is supplying:
Women's clothing : slippers, pyjamas, dressing gowns, bed socks, pants, vests and camisoles.
These must be new or nearly new. Outer clothing is not required.
Children's clothing: T shirts, slippers, socks, pants, vest, pyjamas, dressing gowns, tracksuit type trousers and tops.
These must be new.
Other items include.
Towels, flannels,"off the peg" reading glasses of different magnification.
These must be new
Non- perishable food items.
